I've returned to school and am slowly getting into the ga-roove. Speech and Movement are proving especially interesting so far, but Theatre in its Social Context has possibilities.
Zastrozzi rehearsals are truckin' along. We've gotten to the fights and I think mine should be pretty intense. I'm trying to hold/use as many different weapons as possible in the play. So far, we've got: rapier, longsword and whip. At tonight's rehearsal, I'll ask if I can be holding a handaxe during the Prologue. I'm also trying to work a dagger in there (maybe in combination with turkey-eating).
This is all really just a testament to my shoddy, prop-based method of performance... Props and schtick... That's what I'm all about.
Speaking of schtick... "The Parrot Monologues" is moving along nicely. I have confirmation from all of the actors. Woot! The script itself should be ready for a read-through in March, but I'll post updates here.

please write yourself a part in the "monologues" where you just sit upstage and eat food the whole time, and at the end, bring out the armadillo. see if anyone gets it.
in completely unrelated news, the conservatives won.
how do you feel about that?
As for the armadillo, I shouldn't have to bring him on, he's been professionally trained to walk on himself. The real question: What kind of zinger should I write for it to deliver?
How do I feel about the election?
Incredibly poorly.
I may have answered my own question about the zinger, though. I can't think of anything funnier than "Prime Minister Harper".
i do believe someone has something coming out in the near future, by which i mean tomorrow, about which they ought to be bragging.
